Kusal Jayawardana appointed as Lanka Ventures and LVL Energy Fund Chairman

Kusal Jayawardana

Lanka Ventures PLC has appointed investment banker Kusal Jayawardana as its Chairman, alongside his appointment to the same role at its subsidiary LVL Energy Fund PLC.
Jayawardana brings over 27 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets, corporate advisory and financial services. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and an Associate Member of CIMA (UK) and CGMA (USA). He also holds an MBA from the Open University of Sri Lanka, offered in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning, Canada.
He serves as the Deputy Managing Director of Alliance Finance PLC and as Chief Executive Officer of NDB Capital Limited, Bangladesh. Jayawardana has led several capital market transactions and introduced instruments such as securitisation structures, convertible securities and the first green bond in the non-bank financial sector. He also played a role in pioneering social bonds in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Lanka Ventures, established in 1992 and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 1995, is among the first venture capital firms in Sri Lanka. Its subsidiary LVL Energy Fund, founded in 2006, invests in renewable and conventional power generation projects across the region.
