John Keells back on top as highest market cap company

Premier blue chip John Keells Holdings yesterday dislodged Expolanka Holdings PLC, which has been enjoying the top seat for some time, to gain the top spot at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in terms of market capitalisation.
At the end of yesterday’s trading John Keells market capitalisation stood at Rs.266.9 billion, accounting for 6.13 percent of the Rs.4.4 billion total market capitalisation of the CSE.


Expolanka’s market capitalisation was Rs.264.4 billion, which accounted for 6.07 percent of the total market capitalization.
As the third largest firm, LOLC Holdings as of yesterday had a market capitalisation of Rs.197.4 billion, which amounted to 4.53 percent of the total market capitalisation.
John Keells share gained Rs.1.50 or 0.79 percent yesterday to close at Rs.192.50 while Expolanka share fell Rs.1.25 or 0.92 percent to Rs.136.50.
