Investment Promotion State Minister in China to deepen economic ties

Investment Promotion State Minister Dilum Amunugama with Chinese Communist Party Leader and Governor of Fujian Province Zhao Long

Investment Promotion State Minister Dilum Amunugama is currently on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China. 
As a country, China is the largest foreign direct investor in Sri Lanka. China has contributed to uplifting the foreign direct investment threshold. 
Amunugama addressed three main global investors’ summits on this visit: 23rd China Inter National Fair for Investment Promotion and Trade, Fifth Silk Road Maritime International Cooperation Forum, also in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian Province and 2023 Sino-Sri Lanka Investment and Promotion Economic Forum. In all of these forums, Amunugama was invited to deliver a speech.      
Parallel to these events, Amunugama had discussions with the Chinese Communist Party Leader and Governor of Fujian Province Zhao Long. Long hosted a dinner for Amunugama and the Sri Lankan delegation. He also had discussions with the chairman of the Chinese firm CZK. 
According to a statement from the ministry, the CZK group expressed its interest in investing in four projects in Sri Lanka, amounting to US $ 200 million.
