The Bristol Institute of Business Management (BIBM) - Sri Lanka announced its partnership with Villa College - Maldives to deliver a wide range of internationally recognized academic programmes in Sri Lanka.
The strategic alliance was inked at a special launch event held at the hotel NH Collection in Colombo last week, where the beginning of a transformative journey for students seeking globally benchmarked education within the region was celebrated.
The event was held under the patronage of the Chief Operating Officer Bristol Institute Dilshad Jiffry, where Counsellor High Commission of the Republic of Maldives Ali Shareef was present as chief guest. Partner - Head of Management Consulting and Technology, Deputy Head of Advisory and PPCKPMG Kamaya Perera delivered the keynote address.
COO Bristol Institute of Business Management Dilshad Jiffry addressing the gathering said it is a landmark collaboration that marks a new chapter in South Asian higher education, which brings together two leading institutions committed to academic excellence, innovation, and student empowerment.
He said the BIBM established in 2019, has rapidly grown into one of Sri Lanka’s premier private higher education institutions. With affiliations to the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), UK, and the Distance Learning Centre (DLC), Sri Lanka, BIBM offers a diverse portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, higher diploma, and foundation programs across disciplines such as Business, Accounting, Law, Psychology, IT, and Education.
“Through this partnership, BIBM will now offer Villa College’s extensive programme portfolio, which includes, Postgraduate degrees in Business Administration, Education, IT, Engineering, Counseling and Research Studies, Undergraduate degrees in disciplines such as Law, Architecture, Engineering, Psychology, Nursing and Early Childhood Education, Higher Diplomas and Professional Qualifications tailored to industry needs and developmental priorities,” he said.
Vice Rector /Chief Operating Officer Villa College Maldives Associate Professor Dr. Ali Najeeb said the Villa College, which was founded in 2007 is the Maldives’ largest private higher education provider. With over 22, 000 graduates, 190 plus programmes and five campuses and eight learning centers, Villa College is recognized for its academic rigor, sustainability initiatives and international partnerships.
Deputy Vice Rector - Administration and Finance Maldives Abdul Munnim, Director Marketing and Communications of Villa College Nizna Ali and President Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing Prof. Dewasiri N. Jayantha were also present.
