ASAC (Ananda Sirisena & Co), a registered firm of practicing company secretaries with over three decades of experience, has announced the development of ShareRegister.lk, a purpose-built digital platform designed to modernise the way companies manage and maintain share registers.
Established in 1991, ASAC has long served both local and foreign investors as a trusted Company Secretary, Governance Consultant, and Company Setup specialist, operating across Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and Australia. Drawing on its extensive experience in corporate compliance and governance, the firm identified a growing gap in the market as businesses transition into an increasingly digital operating environment.
Historically, share transactions were maintained through BOG-registered physical share registers, updated annually. In recent years, many organisations have relied on fragmented digital alternatives such as spreadsheets, SharePoint folders, or cloud-based logbooks, solutions that often lack consistency, security, and automation.
ShareRegister.lk was conceptualised to address this challenge by offering a robust, centralised digital share register that enables companies to manage ownership records with greater accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility. The platform is designed to be accessed anytime, anywhere, providing a structured and compliant solution for modern businesses.
“Our experience working closely with companies over many years highlighted the urgent need for a dedicated digital solution that goes beyond basic record-keeping,” said Isura Sirisena, Director of ASAC. “ShareRegister.lk is built to bring clarity, structure, and automation to a critical aspect of corporate governance, while significantly reducing administrative friction.”
The platform features digital share registers, instant generation of share transfer agreements, and automated share issue processes, enabling seamless documentation and record management. Importantly, the system is designed to automatically generate share certificates and supporting documentation, ensuring consistency and compliance throughout the share lifecycle.
According to Maduranga Sirisena, Director of ASAC, the platform reflects a forward-looking approach to governance. “As businesses scale and ownership structures evolve, the way shares are managed must keep pace. ShareRegister.lk is designed to support companies at every stage of growth, combining governance best practices with the efficiencies of digital automation.”
Currently in beta testing, ShareRegister.lk is undergoing refinement with a view to public availability in the near future. The platform represents ASAC’s continued commitment to innovation, transparency, and strengthening corporate governance standards in Sri Lanka and beyond.
