The United National Party (UNP) today said the people may cast their votes for the ruling party, United People Freedom Alliance (UPFA) in the upcoming provincial council elections if they are not troubled by the difficulties caused by the government.

“We cannot approve the way the government is treating the people in the country, but if the people don’t mind approving the actions of the government and give their consent on the actions taken on issues such as the killings in Weliweriya and Katunayake, they may cast their vote for the UPFA,” UNP Parliamentarian Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told a news conference.
