Uva campaign worse than Southern and Western : PAFFREL

While claiming the election campaign carried out by various political parties for the Uva Provincial Council was not worse than the campaign in the North Western Province, election watchdog PAFFREL today said it was certainly worse than the Southern and Western Provincial Council election campaigns.

PAFFREL Executive Director Rohan Hettiarachchi said the state of affair in some of the areas in Moneragala District was appalling.

“We have received complaints on 375 incidents and 287 were confirmed. The majority of the reports, 196 were reported in Moneragala,” he told a news briefing today.
