Two OICs sentenced to 4 years RI

Ampara Crime Investigations Branch OIC and Traffic Branch OIC who stood indicted on charges of torturingtwo suspects in custody were found guilty and sentenced to four year rigorous imprisonment by Badulla High Court.

They were also fined Rs.10, 000 each in addition to the jail term.

They had arrested two suspects, M.S.Mohmed Nafeez, and H.M.Tenzil of Paharagammana in Mahiyangana on the charge of possessing Ganja and had assaulted and tortured them. (Palitha Ariyawansa)
