Road opens after 15 years

A key road which remained closed in Jaffna for nearly 15 years owing to security reasons as a result of the war was reopened for traffic this morning easing the flow of vehicles to the Jaffna town including public transport.

The ‘Power house road’ which was reopened for the public this morning was earlier closed and used only by the military.
