Police nab airport thief

A suspect who was stealing goods from the luggage of unsuspecting airline passengers at the Katunayaka airport was arrested by the police. The culprit had stolen the items stealthily after the passengers had handed their luggage to the relevant airlines.

The police said that he was arrested following investigations on several complaints which were lodged with the Katunayaka police.

Jewellery, eight digital cameras, two video cameras and six mobile phones were among the items recovered by the police. (GS)
