Police seek candidates’ help

The police are seeking the help of the candidates to arrest 158 suspects who are now hiding from police for violating elections law, Head of the Police Elections Desk, Senior DIG Gamini Navaratne said.

Already 79 suspects have been arrested for violating the elections laws, the police said.

“We as the police have advised all the relevant parties to prevent such incidents and advise their supporters not to engage in violating the prevailing election laws”, he added. (SD)
