Philandering husband remanded

A man who allegedly kept company with two other women while his wife was hospitalised and assaulted her on her return home, causing injuries, was produced before Kalutara Additional. Magistrate G. Namal Perera and remanded till April 10, 2013.

The suspect Beneragama Vidanalage Sameera Lakshan was a resident of Galessahena.

The complainant stated to police that she had found her husband in the company of two women when she returned home after hospital treatment and when she questioned him about it, he had assaulted her. She also stated that she was compelled to withdraw the complaint.

SI Chandana Tennakoon and PC 55301 Gunendra produced the suspect in court on the instructions of Acting HQI Kalutara CI  Chandimal.
