Pressures mount on Common Candidate

An agreement between civil society members, political party representatives and trade unions to support a common candidate for the coming Presidential Election will be signed next Monday (November 17), sources said.

At a meeting held yesterday at the Nagaviharaya the National Movement for Just Society amended the original agreement to state that the chosen common candidate should not only resign from his party but also present the said resignation letter to the organisation. (Indika Sri Aravinda)
