President Mahinda Rajapaksa said yesterday that today couples were compelled to plan on their children’s school as they got married.

“Today parents are so enthusiastic that, even at their marriage, they are compelled to plan to which school their children would be sent to. They arrange the required documents ever since the marriage. It shows that the parents want to give the best to their children,” he said.

He said that the government was also keen at providing a successful education to the children, just as their parents.

He expressed these views at a function held at the Temple Trees to award certificates to graduands of College of Education.
