Bail refused to Jeena again

The Colombo High Court refused to grant bail to Rosemary Jude alias Madam Jeena on Friday for allegedly running an up-market brothel in the Liberty Plaza Shopping Complex.

Colombo High Court Judge Sunil Rajapaksa overruled a bail application filed by the Counsel for the accused Rosemary Jude alias Jeena and observed that on several occasions the High Court had refused to release the accused on bail. Therefore, he said the counsel appearing for the accused should file the bail application at a higher court.

Rosemary Jude alias Jeena was accused of running a brothel at the Liberty Plaza Market Complex on October 24, 2007. The accused has been in remand for over one year. (T.Farook Thajudeen)
