350 evacuated over landslide threat in Koslanda

About 350 people of 101families from areas in and around Koslanda had been evacuated by officials because of a possible landslide threat this evening, Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) Udaya Kumara said

“People near the landslide area have seen the earth cracks and had informed the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) officials. After the investigations by the NBRO, the people were evacuated,” Udaya Kumara said.

The evacuated people were now been sheltered at the Ganesha Vidyalaya in Koslanda, he said. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
