Youth nabbed at BIA with Kush worth over Rs. 80 million

Colombo, May 26 (Daily Mirror) - A 24-year-old man has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) after customs and police officers discovered a large stock of Kush cannabis in his luggage, police said.

The suspect, a resident of Gampaha, had arrived in Sri Lanka from Bangkok, Thailand, when he was intercepted by authorities.

During a search, officials found 8.365 kilograms of Kush cannabis packed into 19 separate packets inside his baggage.

Police said the estimated street value of the seized narcotics exceeds Rs. 80 million.

Further investigations are underway.
