Wrong decisions led to rupee devaluation crisis - Mujibur

Colombo, June 5 (Daily Mirror) - Wrong decisions have led to the current rupee devaluation crisis, a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP said today.

MP Mujibur Rahman, who came out with this allegation, said devaluation will become worse as a result of opening Letters or Credit (LCs) to bring down 1,700 vehicles. 

“This move will push the demand for dollars. Increase in demand for dollars will in turn the rupee value of a dollar. This is what is currently taking place. Some state officials are not aware of this reality,” the MP told a media briefing.
