Won’t be able to control COVID-19 if health capacity exceeds: GMOA

The authorities won’t be able to control the COVID-19 situation as before if the virus spread goes out of hand exceeding the health capacity, Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) Secretary Dr. Shenal Fernando said.

He said the COVID-19 cluster which erupted from the Brandix factory, Minuwangoda was spreading rapidly.

He said the control of the virus depends on the decisions taken by the political leadership, health sector and the public.

“Therefore, it is essential to increase the current medical capacity and the contribution made by the public,” he said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
