Woman nabbed with over 9,000 synthetic drug pills

The Anti-Corruption Unit of the Thalangama Police has arrested a woman (38) with over 9,000 mysterious synthetic drug pills.

The woman was arrested at Kalalgoda last evening (25) using an undercover agent.

During the interrogation, the suspect had in her possession 9,400 mysterious synthetic drug pills hidden in boxes in the upstair bedroom of her house at Arawwala in Pannipitiya.

The street value of the seized drugs believed to be over Rs. 900,000, according to the police.

Preliminary investigations  revealed that the suspect had been involved in drug trafficking and peddling in and around Thalawathugoda area, police said.

The suspect is to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate.
