Woman injured in Pangiriwatta station accident: Police

A motor vehicle crashed with a train injuring a woman on board at Pangiriwatta railway station at Delkanda, Nugegoda this morning, police said.

They said the injured woman was hospitalized.

"The protective bell and light Railway Gate Control System was functioning at the time of the accident." "Even though the colour lights were blinking, the vehicle was passed through the gate carelessly," the police said.

It was reported that another motorcycle and several telephone cables were damaged during the accident.
