Veteran singer Shelton Muthunamage passes away

Veteran singer Shelton Muthunamage has passed away at the age of 73, the Sri Lanka Singers' Association President veteran singer and musician Janaka Wickramasinghe said.

He said the final rites of the singer will be decided on Wednesday.

He breathed last while receiving treatment at the Negombo hospital after a brief illness.

The remains will lie at his residence in Kurana, Negombo.

The Association expressed its deepest condolences on this occasion. 

Awanhalaka Ipadi Ma, Deega Noyan Raththarane, Lowama Hada Kiya Mage Sitha Sihina Wiman, Maha Sayure Gamburu Diye, Mal Sinawakin Obe Muwe and Mangalle Suba Mohothe are some of his memorable songs composed by Upali Kannangara. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
