Ukuwela PS member’s party membership suspended

The party membership of Ukuwela Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) member was suspended over allegations of alleged assault on the Grama Niladhari of Thalingamada, Ukuwela, General Secretary of the SLPP said.

The Grama Niladhari had been allegedly assaulted over a dispute when distributing relief packages in the area.

The PS member was subsequently arrested and was later released on bail.

However, the Grama Niladhari is currently receiving treatment at the Divisional Hospital in Jambugahapitiya.
