Train strike cancelled

The railway strike scheduled to commence from midnight tonight has been temporarily cancelled after discussions were held with Transport Minister Arjuna Ranatunga this evening, Locomotive Engine Operators' Union (LEOU) Secretary Indika Dodangoda said.

Mr. Dodangoda said the Minister had promised to discuss their demands with the Finance Minister on April 18 and submit a cabinet paper on the demands on April 22.
