Traffic disruption on Colombo-Kandy main road

Traffic on the Colombo-Kandy main road came to a standstill after a tree collapsed near the Warakapola town. 

The fallen tree obstructed both lanes, causing significant delays and congestion in the area.

Police spokesman Nihal Thalduwa advised motorists to use alternate routes to avoid the affected section of the road. 

“The authorities are working to clear the debris and restore normal traffic flow," he added

No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the tree fall is under investigation.
