Third secretary of SL Embassy in Oman arrested over human trafficking

The third secretary of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oman has been arrested by the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department at the arrival terminal of the Katunayake Airport this morning.

The suspect was arrested over allegations of sexual harassment and human trafficking of women to Oman.

He was arrested when he arrived from Muscat, Oman at 3.57 am today.

It is reported that the CID had obtained an open warrant for his arrest.
