Ten police officers from Parliament test COVID-19 positive

Ten police personnel attached to the Parliament police division have tested COVID-19 positive, Parliament sources confirmed today. 

Police security inside the Parliament complex would be restricted as a precaution and however, Parliament activities will not be affected as only one-third of the Parliament staff is called for duties, the source said.

It is also reported that the Parliament staff has been advised to strictly follow health guidelines and maintain social distance when carrying out duties involving MPs.

Parliament sessions have been scheduled for Tuesday (8) and the Business Committee of Parliament will meet tomorrow and discuss whether the sessions could be held for the week as scheduled due to the pandemic situation. (AS)
