Tally of flood-affected people surpasses 400,000

A total of 401,707 people from 120,534 families have been affected across 24 districts due to the ongoing inclement weather, with 12 fatalities reported, according to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).  

The Mannar district has been the worst affected, with 63,883 individuals impacted, followed by the Jaffna district, where 56,732 people have been affected.  

Further, 102 houses have been completely destroyed, while 1,952 houses have sustained partial damage due to the adverse weather conditions.
