Strong winds: Naval and fishing communities warned

The Meteorology Department today requested the Navy and the fishing communities to be vigilant as the seas extending from Puttalam to Potuvil via Colombo, Galle, Matara and Hambantota could be rough at times.

The Department said strong winds could be expected in the South Western part and hill areas of the country as well as in the Western and Southern seas during the next two days.

The wind speed could be increased up to 60-70 kmph, it said.
