Sri Lanka voices concern over Israel’s move to seize control of Gaza City

Sri Lanka has expressed deep concern over Israel’s decision to seize control of Gaza City, warning that it would further escalate violence and worsen the suffering of its people.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism said the move would heighten tensions in the war-torn Palestinian territory.

The response came after Israel’s security cabinet on Friday approved a plan to take control of Gaza City, expanding military operations in the region — a decision that has drawn strong criticism both domestically and internationally.
