Special notice to public using Galle Face Road

Police today urged drivers using the Galle Face Road to use alternative routes as much as possible during the Independence Day rehearsals and on the Independence Day.

Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa requested the public to use alternative routes especially on the morning of February 1, 2 and 3 where the rehearsals were being held and also on the 4th of February, the day of the Independence Day Celebrations. 

He said motorists can use alternative routes and arrangements were made for vehicles to travel without hindrance.

"Necessary traffic officers have been deployed throughout the city of Colombo. Therefore, you have the ability to travel without causing traffic congestion," he said.
