The Special commodity levy on a kilogram of imported potatoes has been increased by Rs. 5 with effect from today, the Finance Ministry said.

The commodity levy on a kilogram of imported potatoes was Rs. 35 earlier.

The ministry said the decision was taken to protect the local producers.
