Colombo, May 29 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) informed the court today that all six suspects arrested in connection with the recent shooting incident targeting Thusitha Halloluwa, the former Executive Director of the National Lotteries Board, have been found to be directly involved in the crime.
Investigations revealed that the sixth suspect, Ruwan Pushpa Kumara, was the individual who rode the motorcycle with the main suspect, the gunman. It was further disclosed in court that the main suspect had paid Rs. 200,000 to Ruwan Pushpa Kumara for his assistance
Court was informed that the main suspect, identified as the gunman, is still at large and has not yet been apprehended.
The third suspect, Surangi Udeshika, was identified as the extramarital partner of the main suspect. Investigating officers stated that an axe used during the shooting incident was recovered from her residence.
The investigation officer emphasised before court that evidence points to all six suspects being directly involved in the planning and execution of the shooting.
Despite these findings, the firearm and motorcycle used in the incident have not been recovered yet.
Accordingly, the court ordered that the six suspects be remanded till June 12.
