Pallekele, February 12 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka has smashed the fastest half-century in Sri Lanka’s men’s T20I history during the 16th Match of Group B at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against Oman.

Dasun Shanaka smashed the fastest T20 International half-century by a Sri Lankan, reaching the milestone in just 19 balls during Sri Lanka’s match against Oman in Pallekele on Wednesday. The Sri Lanka skipper broke his own previous national record of a 20-ball fifty against India, further cementing his reputation as one of the country’s most explosive white-ball batters.

Shanaka launched a stunning counterattack, unleashing a flurry of boundaries and towering sixes to seize back momentum. With the match still in progress, his blistering knock has electrified the Pallekele crowd and handed Sri Lanka a crucial lift in their Group B encounter against Oman.

His blistering cameo ended shortly after the milestone.
