SLPP ready to partner with JVP to save the country: Sagara

The SLPP was ready to form an alliance even with the JVP for the sake of the country, party’s General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said yesterday addressing the media after paying for the Local Government elections in Anuradhapura.

"The people in the country are lining up with us," he claimed.

“They know where to find the leaders who saved the country, the leaders who love the country, and the leaders who developed the country.

"The people of this country are strongly connected with us, and as a party, we can move this country forward," he said.

“In our mission to move the country forward, we would like to work with the JVP if their policies align with ours. Anyone who agrees with our policy of moving the country forward regardless of party is welcome to join us. We take all the decisions on behalf of the country,” he said.

"Lies and slanders were made against our party, which can never be proven. Many things have been done against the Rajapaksas. While pointing their fingers, they are trying to destroy the national power of the country by applying pressure.
