Colombo, May 29 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lankan Rupee recorded a sharp depreciation against the US Dollar today (29), with both buying and selling rates increasing by more than Rs. 4 compared to Wednesday’s exchange rates.
According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the buying rate of the US Dollar rose from Rs. 320.40 to Rs. 324.45, while the selling rate increased from Rs. 330.81 to Rs. 334.24.
The Rupee also weakened significantly against several other major foreign currencies, including the Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Euro, Sterling Pound and Swiss Franc.
