Risk of COVID clusters looms with opening of shopping malls in WP

With the opening of shopping malls and clothing stores in the Western Province, despite ordered not to, the risk of COVID-19 spread could be aggravated, Provincial Director of Health Service in the Western Province Dr. Dhammika Jayalath warned.
She said the provincial medical officers are advised to take steps to close down clothing stores which are operated violating health regulations.
“The Director General of Health Services has also directed the IGP to take immediate action against such business institutions,” she added.
The shopping malls and clothing stores should remain closed as per the recent guidelines issued by the Director General of Health Services.
