Ravi K’s Private Members’ Bill to repeal Online Safety Act gazetted

Colombo, April 18 (Daily Mirror) - The Private Members’ Bill presented to Parliament by MP Ravi karunanayake to repeal the Online Safety Act No. 9 of 2024 has been gazetted.

According to the gazette notification, the Bill may be cited as the Online Safety (Repeal) Act, of 2025 when enacted.

The Online Safety Act, No. 9 of 2024 is repealed by the the Online Safety (Repeal) Act and any regulations made under the Online Safety Act,
No. 9 of 2024 shall be repealed from the date of enactment of the new Act.
