Ranil’s name sent to Elections Commission

The Elections Commission today confirmed that the UNP had sent it's Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe's name to be gazetted as a national list MP. 

A member of the commission told media that Mr. Wickremesinghe's name will be gazetted immediately. 

UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara told Daily Mirror that Mr. Wickremesinghe's name was handed over to the elections commission today. 

Mr. Wickremesinghe is to be sworn in as an MP on June 23, 2021. (Yohan Perera)
