Protestors block Malay Street in Slave Island demanding for gas

The people who were waiting to receive their domestic gas cylinders, have obstructed Malay Street in Slave Island, demanding for gas.

Accordingly, the road leading to Colombo Fort has been blocked. Protestors said that they would not open the road until they were given gas.

The local gas agent had issued 600 coupons, but despite receiving stocks, cylinders were not distributed in accordance to the coupon numbers.

Therefore, the protestors said that they would not open the road until they received another gas stock. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
