President congratulates Pope Leo XIV

Colombo, May 9 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake extended his warm congratulations to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV on his election as the new leader of the Catholic Church.

In his message, the President acknowledged the immense responsibility that accompanies the papacy and wished Pope Leo XIV strength and wisdom as he leads the global Catholic community.

"May your leadership bring hope and inspiration to people around the world," President Dissanayake said, offering warm regards on behalf of the people of Sri Lanka.
