Policeman arrested over court shooting

Colombo, Feb 20 (Daily Mirror) - Police arrested a 25-year-old policeman attached to the Negombo Police Station over the shooting of Sanjeewa Kumara Samararathne alias ‘Ganemulla Sanjeewa’ inside the Colombo Magistrate's Court.

Police said the policeman, a resident of Padeniya, is believed to have aided the female suspect in the shooting. 

Investigations have revealed that he had a telephone conversation with the female suspect before the incident. 

After recording initial statements, the policeman was taken to the Colombo Crimes Division for further investigations.
