Parliament sessions confined to only one and a half sessions today according to a decision taken by party leaders to confine the session to only oral questions.
The party leaders who met on Thursday discussed measures to be taken to reduce the risk of spreading COVID 19 in Parliament.
According to a media statement released by the House media unit, party leaders decided to confine today' sessions to oral question and postpone the condolence votes scheduled for today to the next parliamentary week.
Meanwhile, only a few MPs were present at the chamber at today's session.
Prominent members including the Prime Minister, Leader of Opposition, a few ministers, party leaders in the opposition were absent during the sessions. A majority of MPs present were wearing face masks. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
