None of the Covid-19 patients, who are being treated at hospitals upto yesterday, are in critical condition, Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara said.
He told the Daily Mirror that there was no Covid-19 patient in the ICU of any hospital patients are being treated.
Commenting on the capacity at hospitals, Dr. Bandara said there were over 100 vacant beds now and they were handling the situation without any issue.
“We have the ability to transform any of the hospitals in Sri Lanka to a Covid-19 patient treating hospital. But as of now, there is no necessity to do so as we have adequate beds to accommodate Covid-19 patients,” Dr. Bandara said.
Meanwhile, it was reported that three patients are in the Intensive Care Unit of the IDH however, their condition was reportedly not critical.
There are currently 1,826 patients being treated in 13 hospitals across the country. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
