Milco Chairman resigns

Milco Chairman Renuka Perera has resigned from his position against the moves to sell Milco (Pvt) Ltd to an Indian company.

In a letter to the Finance Ministry Secretary, he said he has been serving as the Chairman of Milco (Pvt) Ltd since January 21, 2022, and that he was resigning from the position today.

He said he decided to resign from the position as the government has taken a policy decision to privatise Milco through a joint venture of a local and an Indian company.
