Man hacked with an axe in Lunugamwehera

Colombo, May 1 (Daily Mirror) - A 67-year-old man died after being hacked with an axe last night in the Lunugamwehera police area, police said.

Police investigations revealed that the deceased had been riding a motorcycle when he was struck from behind by a cab.

After the motorcyclist fell to the side of the road, the driver of the cab approached the injured man, attacked him with an axe, and then fled in the cab.

Police investigations are currently underway to arrest the cab driver and recover the axe. The Lunugamwehera Police are conducting further inquiries.
