Legal barrier hinders efforts in extradicting Arjun Mahendran: Nalinda

Colombo, Feb 25 (Daily Mirror) - The government admitted today that a legal barrier has hindered efforts in brining down former Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran to Sri Lanka.

Cabinet spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa told the weekly briefing to announce Cabinet decisions that however, the government is making every effort to extradict him.

Responding to a question, he said the legal process against him regarding the Central Bank bond scam will continue whether Mahendran is brougt back to the country or not.

"Our effort is to bring him back to the country," he said.
