Lanka Sathosa reduces prices of 11 essential food items

Colombo, July 23 (Daily Mirror) - Lanka Sathosa has announced a reduction in the prices of 11 essential food items with effect from July 24, 2026.

The decision was taken following instructions issued by the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, the state-owned retail chain said.

Accordingly, consumers will be able to purchase the selected essential items at reduced prices from all Lanka Sathosa outlets islandwide.

Lanka Sathosa said the price reductions are aimed at providing relief to consumers. The official announcement containing details of the revised prices has also been issued.
