Import restrictions on cosmetics, vehicle spare parts to be lifted

Import restrictions on beautycare products, vehicle spare parts and raw materials for export items will be removed within the next two weeks, State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.

He said that import restrictions had to be imposed on several items owing to the forex crisis. 

However over 700 products were removed from the list following appeals. 

"Within the next two weeks import restrictions on several items including vehicle spare parts and cosmetics will be lifted following requests by individuals in respective sectors," he said.(DSB)
