Import of swords: CA to consider Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith’s writ petition

The Court of Appeal has fixed on March 5 to consider a writ petition filed by Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith seeking an order for the security forces to conduct a formal inquiry into the alleged importation of about 6,000 swords by a group of people during the period related to the Easter Sunday terror attack.

The Court has also issued notices to IGP C.D. Wickramaratne and other security heads named as respondents in the petition and to inform the progress of the investigation on the above mentioned date. (Yoshitha Perera)
